📚 Books That Changed the Way I Think About Women’s Bodies & Self-Worth

In honor of International Women’s Day yesterday, I’ve been reflecting on books that deeply shaped how I think about bodies, autonomy, and the cultural messages women receive every day.

These are a few that have stayed with me:

📖 The Body Is Not an Apology – Sonya Renee Taylor

A powerful call to radical self-love and liberation from body shame.

📖 Anti-Diet – Christy Harrison

A groundbreaking look at diet culture and how we can reclaim trust in our bodies.

📖 Bodies – Susie Orbach

A fascinating exploration of how culture shapes the way we experience our bodies.

📖 Come As You Are – Emily Nagoski

An eye-opening book about women’s sexuality, science, and the importance of understanding how our bodies actually work.

📖 Such Sharp Teeth – Rachel Harrison

A bold and entertaining novel that explores transformation, power, and the complexities of being a woman.

These books each approach womanhood from different angles—science, culture, storytelling, and social change—but they share a common thread:

Women deserve to feel at home in their bodies.
